Our Services
Counselling Services for Individuals & Couples
Foundations Counselling offers professional, compassionate counselling for adults and couples seeking support through life’s challenges. Our services are designed to meet clients where they are, providing a safe, respectful, and confidential environment to explore concerns, build insight, and move toward meaningful change.
We integrate a variety of therapeutic approaches to ensure counselling is personalized, effective, and responsive to each client’s unique needs. Faith-based or spiritual dialogue can be included upon request and is always client-led.
Individual Counselling
Individual counselling provides one-on-one support for adults navigating personal challenges, emotional distress, or life transitions. Our counsellors work collaboratively with clients to explore concerns, develop coping strategies, and build resilience.
Individual counselling may support concerns such as:
Anxiety and emotional overwhelm
Depression and low mood
Grief and loss
Trauma and trauma-informed care
Life transitions and personal growth
Domestic violence recovery and support
Our approach is grounded in person-centred care, allowing clients to feel heard and understood while working toward goals that matter most to them.
Couples & Relationship Counselling
Couples counselling supports partners seeking to strengthen their relationship, improve communication, or navigate difficult seasons together. Whether addressing ongoing conflict or major life changes, counselling provides a structured space to foster understanding and connection.
Couples counselling may focus on:
Relationship and marriage challenges
Communication difficulties
Conflict resolution
Healing after trauma or loss
Pre-marriage and relationship preparation
Sessions are tailored to each couple’s dynamic, drawing from evidence-based therapeutic models to support healthier relational patterns.
Trauma-Informed Counselling
Foundations Counselling offers trauma-informed care for individuals who have experienced trauma in adulthood or childhood. Our counsellors prioritize emotional safety, trust, and pacing, recognizing the impact trauma can have on thoughts, emotions, relationships, and daily life.
Trauma-informed counselling supports clients in understanding their experiences, identifying patterns, and moving toward healing in a supportive and non-judgmental environment.
Grief & Loss Counselling
Grief can arise from many forms of loss and affects each person differently. Our counsellors provide compassionate support for those navigating grief, offering space to process emotions, honour experiences, and adjust to life changes.
Faith-Based Counselling
For clients who wish to incorporate faith or spirituality into their counselling, Foundations Counselling offers respectful, client-led faith-based dialogue. With backgrounds in pastoral care and spiritual leadership, our counsellors can thoughtfully integrate discussions of faith, belief, and meaning while maintaining professional therapeutic practice.
Faith-based counselling is always optional and guided by the client’s preferences.
